The best way to purchase a sculpture from me is to CUSTOM ORDER the design you want.
* First, contact me via telephone, e-mail, or in person at a show in the San Francisco Bay area. (I prefer the telephone, as there are many questions you will have)
After we decide on the design and price, you will recieve a completed CUSTOM ORDER FORM and you will send me a DEPOSIT of approx 1/2 of the total price. When your piece is completed, I will personally DELIVER it to your home anywhere in Northern California.
(A delivery fee will be added or included in the price.) Other ways to avoid a delivery fee would be to meet somewhere convenient, ect.
* When it arrives and you are happy with it, (I know you will be), you pay me the balance due and we set it up in it's new home!
Its' that easy! I've been doing it that way for the last 15 years and have many satisfied customers all around California, Nevada and other states.
* SHIPPING is available for farther distances. UPS can deliver smaller sizes and Conway Freight ships my larger peices by truck. A crating fee will be added.
You can also purchase a carving at one of my shows. I currently only do several shows a year and you will be limited to the selection I have on hand, that is if they are not all sold out! If you are looking for a certain type, size, and price, you will probably end up custom ordering one. This way, you can get exactly what you want. (No, I don't sell any carvings from my home.)
*CUSTOM ORDERS can be completed fairly soon, 1 or 2 months is a good ballpark.
* OIL FINISH is the best way to protect the carvings from the weather. This can be easily brushed on by you, or by me for an extra cost. (Most customers end up doing this themselves to save money). Applying the oil several times over a period of 2 years is best.
Purchase a can of EXTERIOR PENETRATING OIL STAIN (CLEAR), and a paintbrush, and just slop it on! Places like Home Depot carry many brands, but I like "PRESERVAWOOD" brand best.
I carve DRIED DOUGLASS FIR, as it is extremely strong and does good in the weather when oiled. The colors once aged can be a bright orange and red. Most of my logs come from drought-stricken trees that have unfortunately died recently near my home in Ukiah, Ca. You could say I'm recycling them!
